Top 5 Spots to Propose in Chicago

If you are thinking about popping the question but need help settling the final details, this blog is for you. We love working with Chicago couples on their road to engagement and a big part of that process (besides the engagement ring!) is where to propose. Where you pop the question is an opportunity to reflect on your past and even make a statement about where you are headed together. Your proposal location can involve your fiance's favorite things or include something you love together.

To help your proposal planning process, we at Preciosa Jewelry are sharing our Top 5 Spots to Propose in Chicago:

Romantic Horse Drawn Carriage Proposal

Take in the sights of the city during a romantic ride in a horse-drawn carriage. At the perfect spot in the carriage or at a favorite landmark in the middle of the Chicago, drop to one knee for an intimate moment in the middle of a busy setting. Hint-- make the moment more romantic with fresh flowers!

Propose in a Private Helicopter Overlooking Chicago

Charter a private helicopter for the ride of your life. Take in Chicago with your loved one breathtaking views of Millennium Park, Sears Tower, Navy Pier, and the Chicago skyline. Find your perfect moment for a private surprise proposal in the sky! Have your time together and celebrate with friends down on the ground.

Plan your proposal in front of the 3,000,000-gallon Oceanarium or near the spectacular recreations of the Amazon and the Caribbean. If you'd like you proposal to be a bit more intimate, propose mid-stroll around the Museum Campus Chicago waterside just outside the aquarium.

Go Big with a Buckingham Fountain Proposal

Bring the Palace of Versailles to your Chicago proposal by popping the question at the Buckingham Fountain, one of the largest fountains in the world. Easy Pearl Jewelry Care

We. Love. Pearls.

Classic, beautiful and dynamic enough to match many styles, pearls are always in fashion. We at Preciosa Jewelry are proud to offer many pearl ring, earring, necklace and bracelet designs from Imperial Pearl and more.

To keep your pearls lasting for generations, we are sharing some easy pearl care tips:

How to wear your pearls.
Avoid submerging your pearls in water to preserve the thread of pearl necklaces. Avoid extended direct sunlight or high temperatures.

How to care for your pearls daily.
Detergents and acidic solutions can cause wear to your pearls so be sure to   Wipe pearls clean with a soft cloth after contact. Always put on your pearl jewelry after applying make-up and hair spray.
Since the pearl's luster can be harmed by perspiration, make it a habit to wipe down after wear.

How to store your pearls.
Although pearls are generally very cohesive and shock-resistant, they may be scratched by sharp objects or other gemstones. To prevent tangles and scratches, store each item separately in a lined jewelry box or fabric bag or box. Pearls can begin to dehydrate when left in a dry box for too long so wear often!

How to maintain your pearls.
Even with the best of care, pearl jewelry is best maintained when checked by a professional yearly and restrung yearly. Small parts of jewelry may come loose and threads can weaken. A specialist will also professionally clean your pearls, restoring the luster you've come to love.
